Sketch Sunday: Plaid and Baseball Caps

We remember highlighting the varsity trend two months ago and just like a seamless transition, the baseball cap has been spotted on some stylish individuals at the campus. This surely has been infused in the everyday casual look of some of us and it's the best way to cover up when one's having a less flattering hairstyle. And just a tip, don't wear it backwards and try to match the color palette of the hat with your outfit.

Sketch Sunday: Varsity Pullovers

We can't ignore the numerous sweatshirts, pullovers, and letterman jackets that keep on popping up everywhere in campus. But this had stemmed from somewhere and truthfully the Varsity Jacket trend was featured in Alexander Wang's Spring Summer Collection 2010. These versatile jackets, that you could wear over any normal outfit, is a cousin of the preppy look as all things collegiate is very much in fashion.

Sketch Sunday: Leather

Nothing epitomizes rock and roll more than a pair of skinny jeans and a black leather jacket. Seen at Emporio Armani and Hermes for their Spring 2010 Collection leather is back and it's looking as chic as ever. Go for this look partnered with a cool unkempt hairstyle and dramatic eye makeup plus confidence just like you couldn't care less.

Asking a lot of girls who their style icons are, we often get bored with the usual Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan response. (Sure they were hot back when they still can afford having stylists.) But when we asked Isabelle Dee who she looks up to for style inspiration, we couldn't help but nod when she answered: Olivia Palermo. On the rise right now is this New York socialite who is known for having impeccable taste when it comes to clothes. Known for her sophisticated style, she often pulls of the very feminine look in a dramatic and very classy way. 

Sketch Sunday: Fringe

What I like about fashion is the constant reinvention of trends. Flapper dresses are now getting back on the runway and other 20s trends as well. From Zac Posen to local designer, Yako Reyes' bags from Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2010. And the fringe trend is now getting on the retail bandwagon, making it as accents on tie-dyed shirts, fringe necklaces and even Balmain-esque jackets like what Rosanna of Little Miss Dress-Up worn here.
